The course is great! it offers experience in all aspects of the film industry, and we study very diverse material which makes for meaningful and engaging lectures/workshops. The student support is really good: we are all assigned a personal tutor for the duration of study, who regularly check up on us and offer any and all forms of support, with a plethora of knowledge and experience they are able to make uni just that much better. The location is perfect, with town centre just 10 minutes away and all the student accom within a 15 minute walk it's great for those who prefer a more laid back uni experience. The accommodation is very affordable in this area: ranges from around £90pppw - £250pppw. Night life is also really good, lots of night clubs and pubs nearby and they all have good student offers, and the societies at DMU often partner with them for extra discounts too.

The course is great. I love how diverse it is and how many different aspects of film studies it covers: we learn about film business, screen archives, filmmaking, analysis, and even reviewing and film festivals. The contact time is good and ensures we are all getting a good education without burning out or getting overwhelmed. Block teaching (only one module running at a time for 6-7 weeks, 4 modules per year) means that I have more time for myself so I can work and socialise and practice self care. The lecturers are lovely, they all keep in touch with us regularly and are friendly and supportive. We can talk to them about anything we want as they all create a good atmosphere in classes and tutorials. We also have access to lots of resources from the library including workshops to help with academic writing, for example. We also have AV Loans which we can rent equipment from for our filmmaking projects, or even if we wanted to film for fun.

All the accommodation is pretty good, worth the expense and are pretty close to the uni so makes the walk to classes a lot less challenging or demotivating. They're all affordable aswell, just look at other student reviews first before booking.

Leicester is a great place compared to soke of the other universities and towns / cities I looked at. My family say its perfect for me and suits me. It's a great place

I chose a close accommodation for first year to help me settle down a bit easier and feel more comfortable. The staff have been very friendly and kind to me. The facilities are as expected
