my adivsie is that Make sure you know what you really want to do before you come. Really look into your course and job prospects after so that you don’t get stuck on the wrong course and want to chage your mind

I love uni, I love my course and really enjoy what i do now, my first year of fashion wasn't great but as I have been able to specialise as the years have gone on I now love doing performance in my final year. I have been a part of university netball for 3 years, a captain in my second year and president in my 3rd year. I have had the best few years in uni alongside this society.

We have employability weeks, to help us with basic CV and hiring knowledge. We have a compulsory 4 week Work placement module in 2nd year and and a sandwich year option, work experience and placements are really encouraged. Our final major project is a collaboration so we have to work with an outside company to complete the module, I know a lot of people who get hired from these collaborations and placements from graduation.

My tutor who leads the performance pathway is great. she's super knowledgeable, approachable and keen to help. the course lets you expand in your own way and develop your own creative style. theres no pressure to be who you are not and individuality is encouraged.

I have been very involved in in my students union in sports teams for almost 3 years now and couldn't imagine my university experience without it. I have been a committee member on for 2 years and it has been such a good decision to be a part of the SU Through the SU and societies I have met my best friends and made memories that I will never forget

Its very expensive, but our house is nice and we haven't had any major problems

The library is too small, its very hard to find somewhere to work in there There is not enough open access for 3rd years in the fashion workshop, we do not get enough time in the day workshops and its unrealistic to expect us to stay from 7-midnight because thats the only time they are free for us, it make us ill through lack of sleep and proper food available during these times and if unsafe to get home this late. In our group even when in scheduled workshop time we have 6 sewing machines between 14 students, this is not enough

I love the city although don't always feel safe especailly when having stayed late in uni walking home through town, selly oak and getting late trains alone. Birmingham has great links and a lot to offer as a city

Great Being a part of a society has been a main part of my university experience and in my final year i can say getting involved was the best decision i have made at university Fun and friendly, give me a break from work and keep me active. without netball i'm not sure I would still be at uni, I would have really struggled without the friends I've made there and constant outlet and break from the intensity of my course

The tutor for my course is great, will always help when she can in all ways I have never had personal support but from friends i have heard the support that uni gives is very good
