I think coming into second year a lot has changed for the better. My class mates seems more together and we all like the layout of timetable. Last year I really struggled to get work done on top of a very intensive timetable and working a care job along side this. This year I’ve had more independent time to work on my coursework. Student life has been a ride been ups and downs and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’ve met far more people I believe I’ll be close friends with in second year. One thing I would like to say about the university I’m unhappy about is the gym. I’ve went to the gym my whole life but unfortunately as a northern Irish student we get almost half of the student loan as English students. I don’t receive a maintenance's loan to help with food or anything and pay a lot of my rent myself. I have to work many hours to sustain this which is no problem and a massive part about life. I just think the gym should be A LOT cheaper. I struggle with mental health and feel a little left out of being able to use the gym as a safe place to redirect the negativity and help my body stay healthy and keep up with healthy routines. I think student life can be quite hard and to have the gym at 300 upfront or pay something around 40 a month on top of paying each time you go is very unfair for those coming from underprivileged backgrounds but who have come to uni to try and change their life and situation around. I appreciate it is slightly cheaper than a regular gym but whilst at uni I was super excited to use the facilities and haven’t been able to once due to finance. On another positive note, I really enjoy the campus there’s lots of lovely places to sit outside and recharge. Thank you

I think there should be more adobe classes as this year we’ve been doing video editing and a lot of what I’ve learnt is from YouTube. My teachers are brilliant and do show me what ever I ask. I think a lot of people in the class would prefer more photography workshops that show us many techniques and something people have mentioned which I agree is almost help with trying to direct people to find their personal style. That is something that comes with creating body’s of work but it’s sometimes hard to do this alongside meeting criteria’s and what not

I think halls are very expensive. The facilities are good and I do fully understand why they are the price they are. Again as a student from Northern Ireland we don’t get a massive loan to help with accommodation and I think universities should be about equal opportunities and I know people who struggled a lot to afford the accommodation and other necessities. I personally had to work almost a full time job whilst doing a full time course which heavily impacted my uni work production.

Best aspects are the people and the community and the facilities you get to use is amazing but I think maybe having more space to study would be nice. It’s always full in the library and alot of the times I like to come to campus to help me study

Our course is great and very helpful lectures and tutorials but I feel like Mondays and Tuesdays can be intense as it’s 3 hours of lecture then another 3 hours of more lecture in the afternoon which can be a lot of process for 2 days straight would be nice to break it up a little

I think it was too much money for a place where there was construction or maintenance always happening
