The worst aspect of my uni experience is the overall demand on my course, meaning my course takes up all my time. I have had to drop my extra activities and limit work to get by, also means I haven’t really experienced the uni party life that’s offered. The best is that even with the course taking up my whole life it’s a great course with fantastic facilities that is miles better than other uni’s. The main reason I picked bucks was because of this but I do find my self burnt out a lot from this, as I compare my friends course and uni’s to mine and see the spare time they have. I feel the course could be even superior if the time and classes where used more effectively within the allocated time, and the briefs set being less extreme with students pushing the limits not the teachers pushing us. Because I am second year the independence has increased but I still work 10 to 6 Monday to Friday to meet expectations, with uni life this would clash badly as I had to give up basketball as they would plan around the times all students schedule classes where over. However with my course this is where the teacher says their bit and we work after or start a time consuming idea. This would create a scenario where I would come in 10 to 5pm go home come back for 6pm ish for basketball then return home at 12 pm and then have a long day sewing after. To conclude I feel like working with the older students to limit the quantity need for submission could really help fashion design students get back some of their life to enjoy again .
