OVERALL UNIVERSITY RATING
Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
My personal experience eith the university has been excellent so far. I received a lot of help in first year which has helped me improve and find my way in second year. I joined a sports team which was good and everyone on the team was lovely and inviting. The library i go to has everything i need and if i cant find anything someone is always around to help out. There a canteens to get lunch and the facilities for my course are amazing. All in all i feel University of Dundee is a really good place to be.
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
I think the uni makes a good effort. There is people who can help assist you and they also have career fairs throughout the year.
Course and Lecturers
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
With my course i like how we have tutorial groups once a week so i get the right feedback to improve my work, however what i wish would change is for the tutorial teachers to swap every so often so it isnt just one opinion because for my subject you often need different opinions.
How many contact hours per week do you have?
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
In my opinion i think the student union is amazing, they help if you need advice of where to go, they throw really good events for everyone and they also have nice food throughout the day.
How good are your university's facilities?
In my opinion i think the facilities are amazing. They have a huge library which has recently got a create space since the main library is open later than the art library, this space includes 3D printers, sewing machines and also extra computers for other students to access too. They also have a premier store on campus which is useful too. There is also a gym which has all the equipment you would need, sports halls and different rooms where they hold different sports classes. Id say the uni has a lot of good facilities.
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
I feel that my university is a really good place as it isn’t too far away from my accommodation and everything is in walking distance, another reason why i love the university i am at.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
At our university there is a wide variety of sports clubs and societies. This is really great because some students depend on these to find friends so having a wide selection means there is something for everyone.
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
I think the university has a lot of support, there is multiple facilities where you can get support wether it be finance, help with writing an essay if you have a disability or even help with mental health. There is a facility for pretty much anything.
