Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
I have had the best 3 years of my life so far at LOUGHBOROUGH. It’s like one big family here, everyone knows everyone and looks out for each other. The tutors are so helpful and knowledgeable, the vice chancellor is amazing and cares so much for the uni and us as students, the campus is incredible and has so much on offer.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
The facilities at Loughborough are incredible and they are constantly striving to improve the campus, new additions such as the Claudia parsons hall are great for elite athletes and even olympians. The gyms are arguably the best in the country. The library is huge and there is so much on offer there.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
The mental health support is incredible. There are drop in sessions every week where you can go as an when you please if you need a little help or someone to talk to. On a more serious note there is free councillors. There are mental health days in the union with workshops focused on wellbeing. Around exam time the uni are great at running these kind of sessions to relieve anxiety and stress and - even stroking puppies! There is amazing dyslexia and study support programmes which a lot of people in my course are enrolled in and have regular meetings for guidance in their modules. In terms of academic support o ur tutors are always open to emails, we have open office hours where we can go and see them individually for advice but we also have tutorials every week for guidance.
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
The student union facilities are great, there is many spaces where you can work in the day and cafes and the shop for any needs. At night it is a great student experience on for Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday LSU nights

Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
The university is situated in a perfect location close to everything, and has good train links and frequent buses, even to take you from one side of campus to the other!
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
The opportunities for sports and socities are incredible, anyone and everyone can find a sport or society that suits them, the possibilities are endless !
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
I like how my course prepares me for industry standards, we are taught a lot about CAD and screenprinting skills. My least favourite part is the academic side of the module but having said that, it helps us to grow in confidence through presentations and essay writing which are key transferable skills for employment
How many contact hours per week do you have?
10
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
There is so much advice in the careers network available for students, from brochures on portfolio advice/interviews, you can book mock interviews, have 20 minute advice sessions on cover letters, CVS etc. We have lectures as well that focus on employability after you graduate and advice. There is even advice available when you become part of loughboroughs alumni when you leave !
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
Very reasonable, great location close to town and campus, in the heart of the student triangle. Modern 4 bed terrace, safe area & a very helpful landlord.
