The consultation hours to visit your tutors are very useful. More support in the first few weeks would be helpful to make the transition to university easier and to make sure that you are happy with your course. The student union is a great facility and the bar has good food and drinks which are cheaper than most other places. However, the prices in the cafes on campus are not very student-friendly.

The course is taught in-class which is the best option for a language degree but I think it would be helpful if some of the lectures were available online or recorded for future reference. The grammar classes for post-A-level are very basic and cover mostly GCSE and AS content in the first semester. Most students do not find this useful and revision should be condensed.

Laundry is quite expensive and this is a problem for international and GB students who cannot go home. There are problems with noise in the accommodation and although there is an anonymous noise complaint system it often does not solve the problem. The accommodation is in a beautiful location and the rooms have good storage.
