Colleges make for a really nice community feel and loads of fun events to go to. There are also loads of different societies to attend, and I love doing uni and college netball, with the contrast between social and competitive sport. Improvement is difficult, as the worst parts of my student experience have been very personal and struggling with getting used to life away from. Perhaps having terms rather than semesters would have made it better, as it means more time at home

Everything is in person, which is good. I have 9 hours of time which is a good level as it gives plenty of time for independent study, but is also not too little time. For languages we have to do a linguistics module, which was not specified in the website when I signed up to the course. The module itself is barrable and as it continues I am enjoying it more, however it does mean I am studying 3 subjects at the moment, which is not what I signed up for.

I think compared to the amount others have paid at different universities for similar facilities, the accommodation could be cheaper. I am lucky to have been allocated one of the bigger rooms, but the kitchen is tiny. Maintenance, however, is always quick to respond to issues and fix them, and it is in prime location, right next to the bus stop and the food hall. The food provided could have some better options yet I think it is overall quite tasty,

High cost for halls but in line with York overall costs- property management varies- good response time for any requests but overly harsh for fines and they charge £16 per resident even though there can be up to 20 per floor which is a ridiculous cost and no breakdown of where this money goes especially during a cost of living crisis
