Nice campus feel, close-knit community, plentiful opportunities, teaching of a great standard, well-located

Would like more contact hours but what is offered is standard in the realm of humanities degrees.

(University owned shared housing) Great value for money, well-located, cleaned frequently and well-maintained. A little bit old but better than what might be expected for the price.

The best aspects in terms of studying would definitely be the lecturers here, on my course they’re so helpful and make such interesting lectures. In terms of the area the city is great and full of life, the halls and residences are good fun usually and the events run by the Uni especially during freshers are great. Some of the worse aspects include strikes going on meaning you miss out on face-face campus time, and get less support with studies. Some of the bad aspects about the area are that some buses don’t go to areas outside the main ones, Hyde Park and Headingley are easy to access but places like Burley and Kirkstall don’t have student buses running there and barely any routes directly to Uni.

The course is so interesting and offers a really diverse range of studies, including the ability to take more social or psychological sides of issues, and has plenty of opportunities for learning areas which are often understudied, such as indigenous religion, mental health and religion and queer studies. Being taught now all in person has its benefits as it means more time on campus with lecturers, but I do think blended learning online was also beneficial for the quality of lecture recordings.

My halls were good as they included en-suite bathrooms and fairly big rooms, however the quality of features like the walls and wooden furnishings was poor and for the money I was spending was quite bad. My extractor fan broke mid-year and they also never replaced it. Kitchen facilities were good and the sofas and TV in there were nice.
