The community is really great, and everything being on campus makes it a lot easier to get involved. The library is also open 24hrs which supports different productivity times.

My degree is really cool because it serves as a blend of all things sustainability. I am able to pick a area of study to focus on or mix it up with lots of interdisciplinary modules (which is what I have been doing). So far it has been on the smaller side which actually works well for me because approaching tutors and lecturers is a lot more accessible.

There is a broad range of different options which is good. Unfortunately the price has been going up and sometimes that is not reflected in the residence. North Towers are definitely on the older side but the increase in price means that there is not longer an affordable option.

I like the campus university feel. Some of the buildings are a little dated, and the lab spaces are not always well climate controlled.

My supervisor is great, and I get a lot of opportunities for training and career development. The course is unstructured and tailored to my specific PhD project, so I do not experience too much structured teaching (which I like).

I like the campus university feel, and Colchester is a nice enough town. We have easy transport links to London also.

This was conveniently close to campus, and let me socialise more with other students, and engage with campus activities. I didn't like how the university accommodation was managed so much - there was very little notice of maintenance, notification of inspections etc., just said sometime during a 1 month period, which wasn't very helpful.
