(BA English) The subject content is good and offers a lot of flexibility, which is nice, allowing you to tailor the degree to your own interests. Organisation can sometimes be a bit lacking, but there are no major issues caused by this.

The app is fantastic. There are so many services to help you find computers and reserve library books. Computers and printers are always available in a range of places with varying atmospheres.

Student services are really helpful. They can help with just about anything, from finance to counselling to accommodation. All of the staff are really helpful. There is a lot of academic support structures in place to help with essays and other assignments.

The student union bar is one of only a few in Winchester. There are many events throughout the week which is enough to keep everyone entertained!

Winchester is quiet but nice. Very very safe; basically populated by students and business people.

Literally a club for everything.

Optional modules are great! The core modules are also very interesting and the balance of seminars and lectures works well.

There is an on-campus careers service that can be used to find part time jobs whilst you are studying or work experience.

They are not great at arranging accommodation. There is something available for all budgets, although it is worth paying for the higher spec accommodation as you will get exactly what you pay for.

This year has definitely been a roller coaster, but not at the fault of the university. I think that they have done their best to adapt to the world around them and keep students safe and supported. However, my experience as a commuting student will differentiate from a student who has lived on campus or has transferred for international study, where student fees for accommodation and level of accessibility changes.

The university faculties are great, especially the libraries. However, due to covid they have been inaccessible to me. Though some books have online access, there is definitely a drop in quality and accessible this year.

The uni offers lots of wellbeing groups and the student services team is welcoming and easily accessible. With their transfer to online meetings, as well as in person, getting mental health support or just having a friendly face to listen to whatever is going on is easy.

Going from fully in-class teaching to 100% blended learning has been difficult for both teachers and students. However, each teacher has tried their best to adapt and keep attentive. The course is very independent with little contact hours in comparison to practical courses.

The university has its own career hub which each student can access with lots of opportunities of job listings and networking opportunities. The uni also gives us notifications for upcoming apprenticeship schemes, guest speakers and work experiences.
