Leeds has a real culture to it that makes it an enjoyable university to study at. The student union is a great central point for the university and has lots of nice spaces to socialise. The libraries are easy to use and enjoyable places to study. Overall, the campus is really nice. However, the English department certainly feels like it has been neglected to some extent, when other buildings are much more modern, spacious, and generally nicer. I haven’t had any issues with support since I have been at Leeds, and all of the staff have been kind and welcoming towards me. I am currently doing a study abroad year in France. I think that the university have a wide range of great universities to study at and this is definitely a perk to studying at Leeds. I did find the process of applying unnecessarily stressful and felt that we were not guided as much as we should have been. Nonetheless, my time abroad has been enjoyable so far and I don’t regret my decision. Leeds is a great university with a lot to offer.

I love doing a small course at Leeds. I feel as though I have been able to get a lot closer to my peers as I may have on a larger course. I think the staff are also really nice and have helped me improve my work over the years. I am on track for achieving my goals.

Leodis is in a good location and is generally nice to live at - it is clean, well managed, and safe. However I did think it was a lot more expensive than it should have been. Other accommodations for the same price, such as central village, had a nicer vibe and location.

The School of English probably has the worst facilities of all Schools at Leeds. It is clear it doesn’t receive the same level of funding. It has recently been refurbished so at least the lounge area is more comfortable but it isn’t a great place to study. The lecturers and tutors at Leeds are informative, knowledgeable and inspiring.

Teaching has all been in person which is fantastic as I didn’t enjoy online learning. Contact hours are always easily attainable and I feel like I have a good rapport with the staff
