The Francis Close Hall Campus is the perfect mix of great facilities and a homey feel. The on site HelpZone allowed my friend to apply for an assignment extension within minutes. They’re also great at being personable, so doesn’t feel like you’re talking to a robot, they’re incredibly helpful and quick to respond. The campus has an amazing library, with amazing helpful staff, that we’re able to assist me with some issues I had accessing some online resources, there’s a large supply of helpful learning material and very peaceful environment. The on campus Starbucks/cafeteria allows for an enjoyable place to eat, and the food and beverage are a decent price, with a reward scheme that allows for discounts and money off. All lecturer's are super helpful and respond quickly to emails, the personal tutors are excellent at dealing with any queries and questions. My only change or problem I have is the lack of bins outside, most of not all bins are inside, which can sometimes be inconvenient when having lunch outside or walking to campus with a disposable coffee cup and having no where to put it. Overall I think The University of Gloucestershire is an amazing university, that’s not to big as to be overwhelming, but instead makes you feel truly at home.

I truly love my course so far, it’s pushed me to expand my point of view and the tools I need for English literature and creative writing. I feel like all our courses so far have had the perfect mix of being taught the information by lecture's as well as guided by them to pursue our own research. Some downsides would just be lack of field trips etc, however we are only 6 months in, and the inconsistency of how lecturers use Moodle, as some put up lecture slides before lectures and some after, which can sometimes be annoying. Other than that I have had some really great feedback, both from lectures and workshops as well as through assignments that have been really vital in the improvement of my work. I also enjoy how the classes are relatively small so each lecture feels personable

Really great location, at lot of busses directly to the university campuses, it’s around £3.50 for a student day rider, which allows you to get on any bus, unlimited for the entire day. Your student card also allows you to get discounted ticket prices, if you wanted to choose that option instead. Cost of living is general to everyday, Gloucestershire isn’t a county that is particularly expensive, so cost is ok. Lots of general food stores such as Tesco, Lidl, Sainsbury’s etc. Safety of campus is good, with security at the main front. Graduate employability is good, with English lit and creative writing allowing for opportunity’s in publishing etc

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
Pittville student village, is a relatively new set of buildings, so all the rooms feel relatively new and clean. There’s access to a free gym, learning areas, laundrette etc, which is amazing and I feel great value for money. There’s a reception area where all are parcels are sent and where we can go with any issues or problems. There’s 24/7 security which is amazing and gates that can only be accessed by student and staff key cards, which adds to a peace of mind. My room is amazing for typical student accommodation, with an amazing shower, really decent size and a really large mirror. My room includes a desk and chair, storage shelf, small double bed, wardrobe and coat hooks. I think the room is amazing value for money. My one issue would just be the kitchen as we’ve had a few issues, we had to buy and extra drying mat and there wasn’t enough, one of our kettles leaked and on both hobs one of the rings didn’t work, our vacuum has also now broken. However I believe it to be amazing value for money, with a few hiccups
