I've loved it. First year was hard to get into. For a long time I didn't feel as though I fitted in. However the memories of my uni accommodation and sitting back on my own and making food are still fond. And as time has progressed I've found myself settling in more and more. I've made lifelong friends, managed to share in some fantastic experiences and learn so much. I'm genuinely going to be very very sad to leave.

Really good. Whilst I selfishly do wish there were more facilities available to the drama studio (more stages and rehearsal rooms etc) I do appreciate the number of non-specialised rooms the university earmarks for us to use. Plus also I know plans are currently underway to extend the drama department in the way I said. Only sad that it will be after I've left. But even as is the facilities are excellent.

Excellent. As far as I can tell. I know the counselling has a long waiting list but I do not think that is the fault of the university as that is true across the country right now. However there are other stress and anxiety helping groups around to help students. The therapy dog is a very good idea, and so many of the tutors genuinely care about us as students. It's nice as it makes me feel far more comfortable talking and interacting with them. I've always received feedback promptly and it's always been useful, and the opportunities to speak to real-world experts in the field has been invaluable.

I think the representation is often criticised unfairly to be honest. Whilst true I think it could be a little clearer to all students how that works and there could be more direct ways to keep the students up to date with what's happening. At the end of the day SU provides so many events and opportunities, the facilities are always so good and theyre really friendly and helpful to work with!

Definitely. I specifically chose UEA because it is a campus university. I don't like the idea of univeristies spread out over a city. However UEA is perfect. It's close enough to city centre to be able to go in whenever you like, plus also the busses run so frequently there's never a need to wait, but it's far enough away and close enough to the ringroad that you can get out of the city quick when going home, you have a lot of open space around which is nice, and there's so many niche pubs and shops around on the outskirts that you get to see this way. Plus also the amenities on campus are always top notch.

Whilst I haven't had much time in my second and third years to make use of the societies I know there is a staggering range. In my first year I joined the circus, fencing, archery, and drama societies. I know so many people who do a range of sports. And I myself have received so much experience from later becoming part of a society comittee.

I love how practical the learning is. It has really helped me engage with the subject and was a big reason as to why I chose UEA. I dislike the amount of group work. Whilst I understand that in the industry teamwork is essential I think at this level it is unfair to mark certain modules as a group as I have regularly found myself putting in more work than other team-members in the past.

The number of transferrable skills ive learnt through my course is staggering. Doing English and drama I have learnt skills needed to join a publishing house, a stage management team, an acting agency, a graphic design business, a marketing team, and more. The amount of diverse skills taught has blown me away. Certain elements of the course itself act as placements or experience of how the degree can be applied in real life, and the careers centre has really reassured me about where I can go next.

Its been a lot but im enjoying it on the whole. There is a lit of responsibility to get used to and its a huge jump from a level but the people and the atmosphere are great!

Academic tutors are wonderful and counselling is something i havent yet tried but i may need to soon and is quite openly advertised

The facilities are good. In terms of representation I havent a scooby.

9/10, they have most of the societies and sports that anyone could ask for, and if they don't have it you can make it yourself!

Most: the seminar and lecture leaders are friendly and the topics covered are interesting Least: we havent spent more than 2 weeks on any one text and it feels a little fast!

Safety is good, keycards and keys being necessary for access to the flats. The condition of the flats is good but not the best. The location is really convenient, 5 mins away from main campus. Cost is a little high but manageable mostly.
