UEA’s student support is easily the strongest thing it has going for it, which is incredibly important. Their wellbeing support and SIZ are both phenomenal and the staff I’ve interacted with are all genuinely good, kind people that care about the students. UEA’s brutalist architecture is, well, brutally ugly, but Earlham Hall and its surrounding area absolutely beautiful. The library archives are also amazing. The union constantly has events going on, and they keep you very updated via Instagram so it’s easy to find things to get excited about.

All modules so far have been incredibly interesting, even the required first year subjects. Module conveyors clearly work hard to make required reading as accessible as possible, with a lot of the books being available online. I do also wish more lectures were recorded and put online, as some modules do this but others don’t, and it’s very convenient to be able to look back on a lecture to process information at your own pace. I’ve definitely had a couple modules where the workload seems to be far surpassing what they should be giving us, but overall they pace the workload out well.
