Lovely campus, mostly helpful teaching staff, good facilities ie university bus, gym, food, etc.

Some teachers just read from powerpoints and while there is a broad module range they arent always useful.

So far, my university experience has been incredible and that is simply down to the pastoral efforts of the university, as well as the inclusive efforts of the student union to make all first years transition to university as smooth and painless as possible.

They are brilliant and are constantly being improved to bigger and better levels.

I cannot praise Edge Hill's student support enough. There are three university services that offer counselling, welfare, and inclusion/academic support to anyone who needs it, not matter what it's for or how long they will need it. Campus support's 24 hour helpline is incredibly helpful. Teacher feedback is also very high quality as you feel that your tutors genuinely want to help you succeed.

Edge Hill's student union is above average but I am not very involved yet because their events and advice is catered more towards second and third years rather than first years, aside from freshers.

Ormskirk is a VERY small and quiet town with only one or two clubs, a small high street, and a twice weekly market. However, there is easy access to Liverpool which has literally everything you need.

They are really organised and varied however they are very underground and you kind of have to join them at the beginning of the year to fully assimilate to them.

They are unbelievably passionate and knowledgeable about their subjects and specialty. You can tell that every single one of them wakes up in the morning and is excited to go to work just through the quality of their teaching, and the dedication and care they show towards all of their students. The pastoral support at Edge Hill is outstanding.

There is constant contact via email chains with the careers center and there are optional modules in second and third year that focus around work placements

It is quite basic and in an old building that does have its issues but they are always fixed very quickly, and it has a "youth hostel" vibe which is brilliant
