The university student support team have been fantastic to myself and peers through our studies. As well as that, the course is extremely focused and the tutors are fantastic in their field. The student union provided a lot of events for everyone also. Improvements could be the price of rent for halls. Since my time in halls, price has risen, the rooms are great (Child’s Hall), however, extremely expensive for what they are.

As it is a small course, I have been extremely lucky that we have only had face-to-face learning, and because of that, has allowed for a closer connection between tutor and students. There are lots of modules that are available such as psychology modules, film and tv modules and historical modules. Improvements could be time tabling. They tend to either be ‘clumped’ together or spread apart. It’s only a small complaint, but something that could be improved.

Lovely, presentable rooms, but far too expensive. The shower water pressure was not good and the showers tended to clog a lot, even when throughly cleaned. There was also no communal area other than the kitchen, which i thought was a missed opportunity, given how some of the cheaper halls had a sofa area. The beds were comfy, and when we moved in, the rooms were spotless. Anything broken, or faulty was fixed very quickly.

Campus life is engaging and fun if you're active; lots of choices of sports and social clubs. 3sixty club in campus is also one of best student clubbing experience I've had in the UK. Library is chic and comfortable with sufficient study spaces and books / online resource. Course content is interesting and inspiring but coursework is indeed demanding (if you are a good and hardworking student). Tutoring hours is not quite enough and most of the time you are expected to guide yourself through module content and problem solving. Disabilities support is available and of easy access but they could be reluctant to provided further assistance to students suffering from severe conditions or sudden accidents, and this could impact your studies to a large degree. However, if you are a healthy student with normal social life, it is not that difficult to graduate with a 2:1 or 1st with a bit of hard work whilst enjoying uni life.

Most lecturers were experienced researchers who were very knowledgable but some might not be very good at tutoring students, so new students (e.g. freshers) might have difficulty catching up or navigating themselves through key concepts during self study hours. It would be appreciated if more contact hours with supervisors and academic tutors are available in order for students to ask questions or directed to external help.

It is so old that all facilities are old. The rooms are basic but acceptable. The toilets and showers are gross, especially showers as drainage is always stuck with hair and no one cleans it up. I can hardly take a nice shower throughout the terms. However, the location is nice as it is on campus near the lake with a lot of greens nearby and there is a bar right at the ground floor which is nice and convenient place to hang out with friends without having to worry about safety. It is only ten minutes walk away from a street where you can find some restaurants and corner shops or a top-up grocery shop, but in order to get to town centre, you must take the bus because it will be a 45 minute walk minimum.
