Don't think I could have chosen a better university for my personal wants. Experience has been authentic and fun and I have met some of the nicest people ever here. Although its not a campus uni, that makes it more of an adventure and gives you a better more independent feel. The ease at which you can get around the city itself is brilliant with an amazingly well equipped town centre just minutes away from the university itself. Absolutely love it and wouldn't change where I am for the world!

There are numerous libraries all with extensive catelogues of books, journals and other resources available to all students. There is plenty of work space and computers available alongside the 24 hour nature of some of the libraries, ideal for those late night -next day deadlines. The equipment available for science based courses is excellent providing a real hands on experience with a whole other campus for medicine.

There are a few different support methods at Cardiff including the invaluable service of Nightline which allows you to call and talk to someone from 8pm-8am no matter what the problem is. There is also the student support centre offering drop in sessions as well as booked appointments in which you can confidentially talk to someone about what is on your mind. Within this, there is also opportunities to get involved in student support and become a volunteer for one of the many support groups available.

Absolutely amazing! The SU provides so many opportunities, activities and events you can never be bored or not find something that interests you. They are always asking for feedback to make it better which makes it very tailored for students. The SU building itself contains everything you could possibly need, including The Taf pub, and is situated just opposite the main campus building.

There is so much to do and see here you need at least your 3 years to cover it all! Everything is easily accessible through public transport or walking at a reasonable price, especially if you have a 16-25 railcard (this comes in handy). If you're in to shopping then this is definitely the place for you, with the huge St Davids Centre in town resembling that of a London Westfield shopping centre without the hoards of people. Culturally, there are several theatres and music venues across town along with the famous Millenium Stadium which you hope you'll be able to get tickets to at some point in your time in Cardiff even though watching the rugby in the pub is just as incredible.

The freshers fair at the start of term displayed hundreds of different societies available to all different types of student making it hard to not join at least one. There is really something for everyone and if you can't find something, you can start it up yourself!

As this is a research led university, all lectures contain some element of home grown research thus making it relevant and interesting. Induction process was a little difficult for my course specifically and teaching standards is always completely consistent but you are bound to get this wherever you go. Overall, I always want to go to lectures and learn in a modern and smart environment.

There is a wide range of different accommodation available ranging from Talybont North being one of the cheapest with en-suite to the brand new Talybont Gate which is actually very cheap in comparison to some other university new builds. Talybont is one of the best places to live as you are surrounded by lots of other accommodation making it easy to socialise. Although it is about a 20 minute walk away from the university buildings, when its not raining, the walk is a good way to wake up for those 9am lectures. Making friends in halls is super easy and my closest friends have come from here.

The student union is an amazing experience however I would like more information on things that we can get involved to or apply for such as scholarships etc

Some lecturers are easier to learn from than others

Good experience but it would be better if the flatmates were more my age
