The best things about the University of Surrey is the opportunity to broaden your understanding and knowledge outside of your course. The fact that the university has many connections to foreign universities, and so we have the opportunity too study abroad is great. The university also offers modules in foreign languages for free for all students. Furthermore, there are so many international students. All these things combined helps me leave university feeling like I've learned so much about thew world whilst still being a university student. I also love the university campus and the lake that we have. We are also in such a great location. So close to the coast but also to London. The worst aspect for me was how expensive the area is. It is common to hear that finding housing in Guildford is like trying to find housing/ accommodation in London (price wise) but without the increased student finance that students in London get.

The best part of my course is the amount and divert of optional modules. In particular the modules based on legal philosophy are great. Many of the law school lecturers are also great legal philosophers/ philosophers so these modules re not only great quality (very engaging and interesting) but you can tell the lecturers are passionate about what they're teaching which makes the learning experience even better. The worst aspect is the fact that the law faculty almost only mentions careers in law. If you are not interested in pursuing a career in law you have to go outside of the faculty to find support. But that support is there.

The location is a great place because it feels safe here and it is safer than many other places that I've been in the UK. The diversity is also good, but only to some extent. There are quite few minorities here (particularly international students are a lot here) but they tend to some from the same places so their societies are larger, but depending on where you come from - there are not as many students to relate to. Additionally the access to ethnic ingredients/ foods is not great. It is fairly easy to get Asian food in Guildford but other types of food are harder to come by or you have to go into London to get. Even things like hair products for ethnic/ black hair, you have to go all the way into London to get.

The accommodation is quite expensive, especially in comparison to other universities. However, The accommodations are quite nice and the university is constantly replaying new accusations and expanding so I expect that they will keep getting better and better.
