Course Content: 3/5 The Engineering Management program is rigorous and comprehensive, with a variety of assessments including online and offline exams, presentations, group work, and defenses. These elements contribute to a higher level of difficulty compared to other programs. However, there is a noticeable gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in some courses. The curriculum could be improved by enhancing its relevance to current market trends and employment demands. Work Placements and Internships: 3/5 Opportunities for work placements and internships have been somewhat limited due to the pandemic. More effort to secure practical experience for students would greatly benefit the applicability of the skills learned. Lecturers and Teaching Quality: 4/5 Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the lecturers have shown commendable adaptability to online and blended teaching methods. The quality of teaching has been generally high, with faculty members demonstrating expertise in their respective fields. Career Prospects: 4/5 The program offers solid career prospects, with many graduates finding relevant positions in the industry. However, greater integration with industry partners could further enhance job readiness upon graduation. Tutor Contact Time: 4/5 Tutor contact time has been adequate, although the transition to online learning has sometimes made it challenging to engage with tutors. Increased availability or more structured contact hours could improve this aspect. Subject Facilities: 5/5 The facilities provided for the Engineering Management program are modern and well-equipped, supporting a robust learning environment despite the shift to remote learning when necessary. Overall Rating: 4/5 The overall rating takes into account the program's comprehensive curriculum and knowledgeable faculty, balanced against the need for improved practical integration and course structure optimization. Best aspects of the course: The diversity of assessment methods prepares students for various real-world scenarios. The dedication of faculty members to provide quality education despite the challenges of remote learning. The technical facilities available to students are top-notch, even when access was restricted. Areas for improvement: Practical Application: There is a need to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications. Courses could be updated to reflect current industry practices more closely. Course Structure: The sequence and cohesion of the courses could be enhanced to provide a more intuitive learning progression, which aligns better with career pathways or academic research foundations. Industry and Employment Alignment: Integrating more work placements and internships, even virtual ones, would help students to gain relevant experience and make the transition into the workforce smoother. Tips for Future Students: Proactively seek opportunities for hands-on experience, whether through internships or industry projects. Make use of office hours and establish good communication with your lecturers and tutors for guidance. Stay updated on industry trends and try to align your course projects with these trends whenever possible.
