Sussex campus has a very homely feel, and has some very good views from the east slope accommodation. The uni has very good lecturers and a plethora of interesting and fun societies to join, especially the formula student team which has been a really enjoyable part of my experience so far. The one thing I would say for Engineering / product design is that some facilities are being refurbished at the moment, so it may be a while before we have access to some machines, although we still get to use Crawley Colleges’ workshop for projects.

Most of my lecturers are really kind and very helpful, however one of my lecturers is slightly harder to understand and hasn’t been as present in some of the lectures. Most of my classes are lectures in person, however we also have workshop seminars where we do some practice work, and there are also practical elements such as labs too. The hours for Engineering are much more demanding than other subjects, however it’s very manageable and the staff are always around to help with any concerns.

The views from East slope are amazing first off, in the camber section you can see all the way to the seafront, as well as some lovely countryside views. The halls themself are really good with microwaves, and toasters included as well as three fridges, and two hobs and ovens. The rooms are very nice and all communal areas are cleaned weekly, although some of the rooms have a strange smell and the carpets don’t look very clean.
