Best: Breadth of teaching modules Worst: Lack of python coding

Worst: The very unfriendly and unhelpful 'welcome points'. The uni is closing down the individual hall offices and combining them, this means the 'welcome points' are over worked. This is not cost saving. As the uni is then spending even more money on residential experience or 'ResEx' to improve everyone's metal health. They should cut back ResEX' funding and have hall offices so the student in halls can build proper relationships with the all managers which will be better for there mental health. Bike storage, can't store bikes in rooms and they provide secure lock ups, but these aren't secure, I know people who have had locked up bikes stolen from these locations. They need a policy change on bikes in halls rooms for bike valued over £1000.

The variety of friends I have made has been the best part of my university experience. These friends are there for you and offer or receive assistance with academics, social life, and even other international exposures. Additionally, I have been able to receive any assistance from the school that I have requested. I believe there are numerous community opportunities that I may need to investigate before graduating. The university staff is extremely responsive and eager to assist when required. The professors are approachable and always willing to help. The student union is very interactive and organize events to help students, especially international students to settle in comfortably. The campus is serene and conducive for effective studies with library and other necessary facilities. On the other hand, I think some lecture seminar rooms at University Park campus are quite old with the chairs uncomfortable and do not have enough charging ports .

The courses are complementary to the degree and my career goals. The contents are also concise but they are very intensive. Some courses require more course hours for professors to go deeper to reinforce understanding. Additionally, some courses are scheduled late in the day and it is difficult to be in the right mental position to assimilate the information. As indicated initially, some courses will best be understood if practical sessions are organized occasionally. I was hoping that as a master's student in mechanical engineering, I would gain more hands-on experience with the newly acquired knowledge; however, I have not yet participated in any practical labs. Because of this, it's hard for me to visualize the material, which makes it harder to apply what I've learned in school to the workplace. The career department is also up to task, ready to help and support students, including international students. Opportunities are shared and info sessions are organized to keep students preapred for the career world. The training and interview sessions, together with some challenges they provide are very key and beneficial for after-school life.
