The NTU is overall good. As I am a PhD student so the group I work in is very cooperative and my supervisor is also very nice. However, being a PhD student I struggle with not having a personalized work space. Moreover, I have my family with me and I also struggled a lot with finding an accommodation as NTU does not provide accommodation to students with families.

My course is very tactile and there are many opportunities provided for me to gain experience, wether it’s with new machinery and equipment or learning current breakthroughs in external lectures and seminars, every opportunity is open to all engineering students. The lecturers always strive for the best and are great with support alongside student services. Any questions are quickly responded to and you’re never left at a dead end. The timetabling could be improved as the schedules aren’t always the best (leaving large gaps in the day between sessions).

There are lots of state of the art labs and facilities in engineering, these are all bookable once you have done the appropriate training which are sessions accessible throughout the year. The course content is very interesting and everything is clearly structured on the online NOW pages so that lectures can be accessed and further reading is also accessible throughout this site. Lectures are recorded and uploaded into NOW to allow for easy access from home in case of someone wanted to recap lectures or go over anything they’ve missed.
