I hope to host more sports events

As a mature commuter student who is also a parent to a young disabled child I think the university has accommodated me fantastically. I feel supported and valued. When things have gone wrong I've had practical advice from tutors, support services and my departments admin team. The only bad experience I have experienced is the loss of learning due to the ongoing strikes. I have completed a foundation year, an undergraduate degree and now I am studying for my master's and my education throughout this time has been constantly interrupted by necessary strike action. The university of Sheffield, along with the others universities in England need to listen to the concerns of their staff and act accordingly. Students should not have to miss out on the education that they are paying for simply because the universities do not respect their workers rights to fair pay and a workplace free from discrimination
