Job Prospects

How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?

As part of my masters I undertake a professional placement, which I am taking with the Diocese of Bath and Wells. I have recently completed the University's Global Talent Programme which offers many opportunities to expand my skill set. I am working on a distance learning course so have opportunities to interact with students from all over the world. There are opportunities to become involved with cross-cultural activities too.

Course and Lecturers

What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?

Personal circumstances made travel to and from University difficult. Offering distance learning allows me to care for my family and develop myself academically too. The staff are very supportive and the discussion groups offer a wide range if experiences to discuss subjects with other students and staff.

Students' Union

What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?

I live at home and study by distance learning but am kept up to date by the SU on their activities. I follow their activities concerning the UN Sustainable Development Goals closely- its very inspirational.

Uni Facilities

How good are your university's facilities?

Excellent- I studied the undergraduate at Bournemouth some years ago and it was so good I returned! I have been delighted to return to campus and see all the new facilities since I first graduated.

Local life

Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?

I am not partaking in this aspect as have family commitments but I loved living in Bournemouth when I studied undergraduate.

Societies and Sports

How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?

Not applicable.

Student Support

How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).

I have excellent tutors, always happy to offer advice and feedback. I haven't needed personal support but used it when I studied undergraduate level and it was extremely helpful.
