Sometimes I feel like we have to take longer on certain topics due to their being older students who haven’t been in education for a while. But that actually helped me when moving away from home and starting a new life.

It uses UoL intercollegiate halls so it’s a great opportunity to meet people from everywhere! The best prices that you’re going to get as well, especially for the location.

I started my course in October 2nd of last year, as a foreign student. I already have some other graduation in my country, but studying abroad, in a total different place, with different culture and language, has been a challenge since I got here, even more because the methodology of teaching and education system works in a different manner than I was used to in my country, demanding specific skills and evaluating some aspects differently, what despite being harder, is also greater for my academic and intellectual development! I feel that Birkbeck really provides me with everything I need to make this journey more acessible! The library is HUGE! And ALL the literature avaiable for reading and recommended by the professors are amazing! Besides it, the online tutorials and workshop calendars are very useful! Whenever I get lost about a procedure or when I'm not sure how something works, there's a tutorial or online page where I can run to. Well, as mentioned at the beginning, being a foreign student is definetely hard! But I feel I couldn't have chosen a better university to make this journey easier and more comfortable!

I feel that the course is pretty complete and has constantly estimulating and helping me improve my critic point of view, not only by the lectures and seminars, but also because the readings always brings different authors with divergent or comlementary point of views, what allows me to have a wider vision of the subect, being able to consider not only one thought line, but a bunch of them, to have a more varied base to formulate my own opinion about an issue. I also love how most of the professors are humble and patient! Making me feel comfortable to ask or comment anything, what makes me want to go to class and participate even more!
