Exeter is a great place to study as it has many new facilities, such as high tech computer labs, which have aided my skillset within my course. Additionally, it has a wide range of sport facilities on the campus. The campus is full or green life making it a pleasant and relaxing place to be and study. An improvement that could be made would to extend the size of the gym as it can get very busy and update the equipment within the gym.

My course has been taught completely in-person. The jump to second year in terms of contact hours is very large and it does not get addressed to you how much more scientific based the course becomes once you enter second year. I went from an average of 9 hours of contact hours in year 1 to 18 hours of contact hours in term 1 of second year, This is due to having 2 compulsory computing modules (GIS and numerical methods) which include new computer practical's every week which usually require overtime. At first I found these modules very frustrating and difficult as I am no computer expert but I know that these skills will boost my CV and could be very beneficial in future career paths.

I was in the shared bathroom for East Park which I couldn't recommend more as it is much cheaper than the en-suite option and most other accommodations on campus. You only have to share a bathroom with one person and as the bathrooms are classed as a communal space they get cleaned once a week (which en-suites do not). They also come in very handy if you are hosting a flat party as they are easily accessible and no need to let anyone into your rooms. East Park also has a reception on site which is very useful at sorting out any issues with your accommodation quickly. The kitchen included plenty of storage and was newly furbished. Bills are all included which is a life saver when it comes to heating in the winter!

In terms of what I enjoy about Falmouth, I find it to be a very quirky place where you can have a lot of fun. However, I do not enjoy so much how small Falmouth is and how it can often tend to be very quiet, and sometimes feels a little isolated from the other towns around it. Saying that, the big city life wasn’t for me so Falmouth just suits me and although it takes a little adjusting it is great.
