The facilities are great, with new ones coming online. The lecturers are knowledgeable and make the learning fu,n and are extremely supportive. Negatives? Few, in my opinion. However, although ideal for me, the main building does necessitate bus travel for some and is no longer free.

The course is blended being a combination of main lectures on site (30%- 11 hours pw), external site visits ( day trip and residential) and independent learning 70%-26 hours pw). Tutorials weekly, Personal Academic Tutor and PAL available. Lecturers make known Wednesday available for 1 2 1 sessions but always respond to email. The course I am on is new and there have been some (minor) areas if duplication between foundation and y1 . However I would recommend this course and Uni without question. I am closer to 60 than 16 and have found the lecturers and course contact excellent.

Without the University of Derby, I would have not been able to go on to do my MSc in Engineering Geology. I doubt I would be in such a good position if I went elsewhere for my undergraduate education.
