I chose to study at the University of Sunderland because it has a strong reputation for specialising in Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, and allied healthcare professions, therefore I knew Sunderland would be the most suitable place for me to study and progress in my healthcare career studying Audiology. What really stood out to me was the university’s welcoming and inclusive atmosphere it’s a place where you can integrate with a diverse community of students from all backgrounds, and where everyone is encouraged to reach their full potential. Another key reason I chose Sunderland is the level of support available. The university truly values its students and provides guidance that suits all needs and learning styles. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely want to help you succeed, which is reflected in Sunderland being ranked first in the Northeast for teaching quality and among the top ten universities in the UK for teaching excellence. Sunderland itself has become a fast-developing city, and the university has benefitted from multi-million-pound investments, creating modern facilities and resources to enhance student experience. It’s a great place to live and study, with so many opportunities for the future for example the construction of a brand-new, state-of-the-art eye hospital just a stone’s throw from campus. Overall, I’m confident that choosing the University of Sunderland was the right decision for me. It’s a place where I can continue developing my skills, knowledge, and confidence.

I really enjoy the variety in how my course is taught. As a practical learner, there are many opportunities to actively engage and immerse myself in hands-on learning. The course also includes a placement component, which allows me to put my theoretical knowledge into practice and further develop my skills in a real-world setting.
