My experience is overall very satisfying

The best part of uni for me has been the people and the freedom. Being surrounded by others who care about the same things and challenge how I think that’s rare. I liked having the space to explore different ideas, change my mind, and figure out what I actually enjoy learning about. Some lecturers genuinely cared about their subjects and it showed; those classes made everything click. The worst parts? Bureaucracy and inconsistency. Some systems felt built to confuse you whether it was admin, feedback delays, or timetabling that made no sense. There’s also a big gap between the best and worst teaching; a few modules felt like box-ticking rather than learning. If I could improve one thing, it’d be clearer support when you need it. Whether academic, mental health, or career guidance having people who actually follow through makes a huge difference.

The best thing about my course is how engaging it can be when it’s done right. The seminars are small enough to actually talk things through, not just sit and take notes. When lecturers make the effort to connect what we’re learning to real examples, it sticks. There’s also a good balance between theory and practice, which keeps things from feeling too abstract.
