Rich facilities.

The University of Sheffield is quite a diverse uni, in the sense that there are so many international students which i think its great as it means you have the opportunity to meet knew people and learn more from different cultures first hand. There are a lot of opportunities offered within and outside of the university and all of the staff are very friendly and willing to offer their guidance and advice. The SU is genuinely great!

There will be coding. It can get confusing so i recommend emailing whenever your confused or creating a study group with some people on your course so that when you are lost you can all work together to understand. I am only in my 1st year so take what i say with a grain of salt haha, but so far it's not bad. All of the lecturers and seminar leaders I have had so far have been lovely, so i don't think you need to worry about that. There has only been 1 online lecture so far and that module is not credited, so everything is in-person which is really good. In my first semester I've had an average of about 8-contact-hours per week. I love it because it gives me time to get involved with societies, hang out/meet friends and time to review any content i didn't understand and complete my work. For Digital Media & Society, you will mainly have lectures and seminars in the wave, but also spread across campus for example; the diamond, Hicks building, management school, etc. I highly recommend this course as it will allow you to go into a wide range of different careers. Overall I like the course

I'll be honest, if you have lectures in the main campus and towards west street, so like the diamond and further... Long day. It is a 30 minute walk. However the student village is definitely worth staying in your first year, as it is all 1st year students, there is also the Edge which is a hub in the centre of the village and they have lots of activities every week. Also there is a bar and restaurant upstairs in the Edge and a studio, and music practice rooms. And the green room, you can watch movies and book it out for free with friends. They also host cooking sessions its really good. I think what the student village lacks is just the fact that it is uphill and a bit of a walk from the city centre. But the facilities make up for it. Plus there is 24/7 security, it is really good. But be prepared to be walking uphill A LOT, just in Sheffield in general, there are so many hills
