The experience has been tainted by the fact it has been online. However, this couldn’t have been helped for the most part. I think that my departments (the language centre and the sociology department) have been helpful, however, I don’t think this is reflected in LSE as a whole.

Essential reading for courses can be found online. However, a lot of the extra reading needed for assessments are not available online.

Very fast response to concerns regarding my mental health. The disability and wellbeing services are helpful too.

The department is very small which means that a lot of support is available to you. You are able to meet with staff regularly. Any concerns will be addressed quickly and more than adequately. For example, any concerns I have had have been followed up with a personal meeting with my academic tutor and course director. The small nature of the department also means that you get to know students from all years through the many social events the department holds.
