De Montfort University is a wonderful place to study because it is one the leading universities for criminology in the U.K, it has won awards for supporting students and for the academic resources it offers. I am studying remotely and thought this would be the challenging aspect about the course. However, De Montfort Uni have made it so much easier. I am able to read books that are in the library online, it is simple to use their service online - especially blackboard. If I need a book that is not available online, De Montfort will deliver the book to my house in Wales!! I am able to use the library computers from my own house - I just log in via blackboard and I have all the services their library computers offer. They offer a wide range of services to assist in report writing, referencing, critical writing and many more... The staff are really supportive too. There are not many areas for De Montfort to improve on, the only aspect I would like to see them improve is for those who work remotely do not have to pay to have the books returned. As we are students a the end of the day!

Best parts: The tutors organise for outside agencies to speak in our tutorial or lectures. For example, doctors or psychologists. This gives the learners the opportunity to speak to more academically advanced people about certain topics. Worst part: In my first year I struggled to have contact with my tutor but this year has ben very different.

The lecturers always offer great support and job aspects, as well as giving us the best opportunities when available. Easier locations and more facilities suited to practical elements of the course would be good, but seem to be lacking slightly in these areas.

Location wise brilliant, it’s right on campus, however what you pay for what you get is not worth it. The rooms are very small and it’s a complete gamble who you end up living with
