It’s been great despite everything that’s happening with Covid, I have found a few friends and because of being in person for the start I would say I know my course mates too. I think that the university have taken the Covid situation very seriously and have tried to provide the best year they could despite being thrown in and out of lockdowns since the start.

We have two campuses both with their own facilities, both are a very good standard and have support teams available. Unfortunately due to Covid I haven’t been able to utilise all the facilities on my campus but I have been able to learn more about the campus and what the university offer during the time being online and there’s a diverse range.

We have Firstpoint which is an amazing service where you can go in and ask for financial advice, educational advice etc whatever it is they will have someone there ready to listen and help you out. I remember on the open day being told that they would normally have mental health days where dogs are brought in and you can go and get involved very easily. Once again, Covid has ruined my chance of seeing how far the university can go with these services.

We were in person for lectures and seminars for the first part of semester 1 and I loved it. The move to online learning was difficult but with the support of our lecturers and the university team we managed to transition easily. Our lectures are always planned well, I enjoy the mixture of looking at texts/professional pieces and then for Creative Writing learning how to use skills to write similar pieces of work, and for English Lit we go into detail about context and historical, social and everything that helped create the text and where it was at the time of publication. It has been a weird year but if I ever need support or guidance both academically and personally I know my lecturers are there for me

Every Sunday, an email is sent around with job opportunities and for someone who desperately wants a job over the summer and leading into second year that is incredibly helpful. They run help sessions on how to write cvs, how to ace interviews and provide general information on how to move from university into the working world. As a university, they also offer many jobs on campus and it’s nice to see the university trying to help us get some experience while we are studying.

Worcester is pretty hit & miss. Some tutors / modules / facilities are amazing and some are absolutely terrible. I don't think I'd choose to go here again now knowing how it is. On the whole, the content isn't delivered very well so you feel a bit lost & on your own when it comes to writing assignments. Student life is also a bit naff; I didn't really care about this anyway but haven't been inclined to join in with anything in 3 years

About 1/2 my tutors are great and the other 1/2 are dreadful. Very lazy, boring, not-bothered delivery of very badly chosen content. I've had zero help or even discussion about where this course could take me longterm & there are no facilities for my course
