I studied at Nottingham Trent University during my undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The staff were friendly, approachable and supportive in mental health and course-related aspects. Besides this, NTU has excellent facilities. The library offers various study areas, including group study rooms/tables, a relaxed study environment and a quiet study area, for when you need to knuckle down and study without interruptions. The pavilion offers various study areas, including the much fought over study booths nestled around the ground and first floor levels. Also, some study booths are tucked away in the Reflectory, the campus cafeteria. Mary Anne Evans, Ada Byron King and several other buildings around campus boast quiet and relaxed study rooms/spaces for students to enjoy. I am generally an alone studier (easily distracted). Still, when choosing to partake in group study sessions, writing sessions or when I require a change in scenery, these rooms have offered a pleasant change. Plus, as a postgraduate student at NTU, Mary Ann Evans has a separate postgraduate study room available to access from opening to closing time. Regarding improvements, I would say that some of the study spaces could do with renovating to make them a little more comfortable, but generally, they are decent and provide a good study space.

In 2022 the MA Creative Writing was taught through blended learning - mostly in person. Still, when needed, the classes were moved online to continue teaching when a lecturer/or guest was unable to deliver in person due to self-isolating. Core classes were taught Monday from 6:30 to 8:30. They covered various topics, from characterisation and The Hero's Journey to Travel Writing and the Importance of Place, Location and being true to oneself. Optional Classes, chosen before the first day of term, took place fortnightly (from 6:00 to 8:00) and were delivered in the form of a seminar/workshop. Staff were approachable and friendly, and available through email, MS Teams and in-person meetings. Their support made me feel confident in myself, my ideas and helped me get through difficult times - I really felt like part of the NTU community.

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
Clifton Campus has two Halls of Residency - Pevrelle and New Hall. I have stayed at both Halls during my four years of study and despite them being rather expensive (between £6000 and £9000) both Halls are located on campus, which makes it easy to access all the provided facilities - Student Shop, Student Union, The Point, the Library, the Pavillion etc.
Peverell uses a key system to access its buildings, mailboxes and flats, while New Hall uses a secure fob system - but uses a key system for its mailboxes. Both Halls have 24/7 security and reception, even on weekends and a laundrette is located on sight. However, unlike Pevrelle, New Hall does not have a student common room - as a newer build, it didn't seem important to the owners to incorporate that into their design. In my opinion, this was a great loss as, during my stay in Pevrelle, it was a much-enjoyed aspect of student life within halls. New Hall is modern but has the same room design as Pevrelle- a decent single bed, large desk, plenty of storage for clothes (including under the bed space) and two large shelves. The en-suite is decent too! As for the kitchen...well they served their function well.
Worth the money? Well, that depends on the person, to be honest - personally, I think for the money and a student who has experienced four years of being ripped off and have experienced both Halls and Private accomdation, I think we should get a little more - like at least a washing machine in our flats. Two sinks, two cookers, two kettles, two toasters, just enough cupboard space, a recycle and waste bin and two fridges which gives seven people one fridge and freezer shelf (if you are lucky as two flatmates have half a shelf and a draw in the fridge at the moment). For almost £8000 (rough guide of my rent in 2022) I feel we could have at least a washing machine in there...I mean there isn't room.
