Loughborough uni had a really nice campus - I like how it's a campus uni instead of a city uni as it makes it feel safer and like more of a community. Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to play a sport to come here; I don't, and it's never been expected of me. However, sport is a huge aspect of Loughborough, so you really can't avoid it around campus. As someone who is more musical (I'm a classical singer), I've found that there hasn't been as much opportunity to continue pursuing this. Whilst there is a choir and a singing society, I haven't yet found opportunities to perform solos/duets etc in classical singing, however there are a range of music groups if music is your interest, just perhaps not as much as other universities, as a lot of the focus and money is put towards sport. In terms of night life, the Students' Union have events (club nights) every Wednesday and Friday, and occasionally other nights for special occasions, so there is plenty of nightlife opportunity. There are also many events hosted by accommodation halls, societies, and the members on your course.

The way the course is taught is split into lectures, seminars, and workshops. Currently, I have 3 lectures, 3 seminars, and 2 workshops a week (all lasting between 1-2 hours). The course is interesting so far, however as I am only in 1st year, semester 1 has mainly been introductory modules so I can't give an overall viewpoint.

Nice rooms, decent-sized kitchen. WiFi not great, often cuts in and out but it's okay. It's in a convenient location, only a 5 minute walk from the library, and about 10-15 minutes from the Students' Union.

The best aspects are the freedoms I get to choose. Both in and out of my course, I feel very independent and capable to choose what I want to do such as sports, study time, social aspects, etc. I think the worst aspect however is the lack of briefing in terms of assessments. My first coursework felt sudden upon me which stressed me out.

My course content is very varied and always easily accessible. However, my lecture quality is inconsistent. Sometimes I have a really good lecture but others are unclear and leave me confused by the end.

My hall is amazing and I love my room. The committee is very nice however I feel as though it is less sociable than the other halls upon comparison. Nonetheless I do not think there is any other place on campus I would rather be.
