A lovely campus with state of the art gym, many bars including cocktail bars, old pubs and sports bars. A large library, currently under construction. brilliant tutors and very interesting literature lectures. buses are very easy to get to Uni in about 10 mins, town has a variety of clubs, though not many all are safe and cheap. Nightline is available to struggling students. parking is impossible to get on campus and off.

wonderful learning zone, shops, hairdressers, bars, cheapish but state of the art gym, rolling hills and large spots field. Library is currently being refurbished but is usually brilliant. conference centre is another study zone. lecture halls are easy to hear in, large and modern technology.

Nightline is helpful, tutors will help you with academics if needed. essay writing workshops and a number of careers offices

excellent union. Extrav and Freshers are amazing and throughout the year events are organised including Balls, Roses and sporting activities.

small but good. excellent hairdressers, all major shops though small are present ( inc prim ark 2015) however there is no department store :( pubs are cheerful and welcoming, clubs are fun, parking is scarce but manageable if you know how to find it. not far from uni, good restaurants and a safe environment.

ENG 201 is incredibly varied and interesting with engaging tutors.. second year modules provide a closer look at what you prefer to study with tutors who push you and an excellent mixture of texts from 1610 to 2011ish.

part-time jobs are incredibly easy to get in the town centre if you have something about you, if you're boring don't bother trying. all of my post-grad friends have achieved full-time jobs or masters.

beautiful accommodation ion county, with attention to detail when housing you with someone. clean, large and modern with benches, gardens and laundry near all.

The best aspects is my degree, it was the best catered to what I wanted when trying to find a university. The campus itself is also good, the library especially. Being a campus uni is a benefit and is only a 20 minute bus ride from the city centre. A negative perhaps is the travel which could be more efficient but its the best that can done due to the increase of students in Lancaster. Linking on from that, the size of the city could put people off due to few clubs and places to go out. However, it is expanding and there are lots of new restaurants to dine in and has great views nearby for walks around the city. I've not been bothered by the size as I think it's less overwhelming than other cities and makes travel a lot quicker. Best aspects of uni has been joining societies. I joined a college netball team and have found great people there. It encourages me to get fit and also go out on socials which has helped in lonelier periods. A negative was the accommodation I chose a first year (Bowland Halls) as I only had two flatmates which restricted my options for meeting people, and resulted in me living with them second year which I was very unhappy with. However, I have grown more extroverted and met new people in my final year, and that is due to the set-up of seminars in my module. Creative writing seminars usually have a friendly atmosphere and do help with my work. Netball has also pushed me out of my comfort zone to make more friends.

Best aspects are the seminars, which feel engaging and encourage me to put more work into the course (in particular with creative writing). However, this can depend on the person leading the seminar. There aren't any terrible aspects, it's sometimes hard to deal with workload if there are weekly submissions for a workshop in Creative Writing, and feedback can sometimes be questionable and subjective when they're from your peers.

Being in the oldest halls, you could tell they needed renovating. The carpet had an old smell. However, the kitchen was looked after well by the cleaners and was very efficient. The location was good and very close to my lecture and seminar rooms.
