The music department facilities are brilliant and there are some great tutors (and a few less great ones). The course content is stimulating and there is room for discussion as the course size is fairly small. The university as a whole, though, is quite disorganised and not the easiest to navigate in terms of student support. The student union is a nice place to chill – I feel like most of the good events are at the start of the academic year and there isn't as strong of a sense of community/opportunities to meet new people mid-year. Overall, would recommend but I'd say rent somewhere nearby as opposed to staying in halls (they're extortionate).

The contact time is pretty low but I reckon probably in line with the average at postgrad level, where your study is expected to be more independent. The course is relatively small so the quality of the contact time is decent, with room for discussion, particularly in workshops. The facilities are incredible; the GMS is a great recording studio and there are smaller studios on campus that are easy to book and rarely full. There isn't an option for work placements and there isn't as much of a focus on career prospects as I'd like on the course itself, although there is a career service and opportunities can be sought out.
