Due to lockdown and a bad internet connection at home, I repeated a year. My new group of students are fresh out of school and full of enthusiasm. I like the choices we had last year for this year. I like all my professors who are highly informed and always happy to lend an ear for advice. The materials, books we look at are very current and options on which to focus great. There are plenty of cycle sheds to keep my bike dry and even a shower if I need it after work. I don't participate as much as I'd like to in the student union, but representatives often come to our classroom with news, encouraging us to join in, vote. In Professional Practice, one of my subjects, we have to write newsletters, feature articles or listicles. I'm not confident enough yet to pitch it to the commercial world, but can submit it for the University magazines. I had to think hard about downsides. This year we're a little cramped in some of our classrooms, and ventilation is not always easy. Perhaps free Covid tests would be good. My brother tells me they're still free in Canada. I'd also love offers of exchanges with European or International Universities. That I expect is possible for a masters, I'm still undergraduate. I've engaged with the Mental Health Services who were extremely helpful and the Careers and Enterprises are equally impeccable in these precarious times.

As I said in my previous praise, I nearly dropped out through frustration with all the lectures online during lockdown. A brief chat with head of department changed my mind and I was allowed to repeat the year. The professors, despite being constantly busy, are always at the end of an email for anything - an inspired idea or feelings of doubt. They make me feel secure that some way can be found to overcome the obstacle. The encouragement is always there. Especially this year when we know our marks will count.
