I study Digital Film Production and my lecturers are perfect. They are very passionate about what they teach and always work extra hours if needed and if you want them to put on an extra class about something you don't understand, they are willing to do that. They are absolutely brilliant =) In terms of facilities the media department are pretty decent but I do wish they had more high quality equipment, however I do understand that they have limited budgets.Job opportunities are quite good as we have a careers adviser who has worked in the industry and has the contacts, same with the lecturer's who have worked in the industry and have the contacts. Only thing that might limit us is the fact that most of the filming work is in Manchester and London, whereas there is little work in the North East for filming. If the North East had a large film network then the university would be perfect in terms of Work Experience. I also need to mention that it is amazing that the university get industry connections in to do a masterclass for students. It's great to hear from the people who have industry influence.For accommodation in first year I lived in Panns Bank which was great. I love the layout of it, it was really nice and only 15 minutes walk to campus. Sunderland itself is quite decent. It has restaurants, bowling, cinema (a very cheap cinema for students I have to say. I love how cheap it is) a brilliant shopping centre, and several free museums. I haven't mentioned clubs or pubs as that is not my kind of thing so I can't really comment on that. Accommodation is quite cheap if you decide to rent a flat/house, what I pay now is £65 a week and that includes all bills and internet. It's great =)
