Obviously this year has been different due to COVID-19 and a lot of the negative aspects of this year, such as online learning and lack of access to resources, are not specific to only my university. However, whilst on the whole I have enjoyed the academic year and found it intellectually challenging, I also have felt easily overwhelmed at times due to a lack of support.

It is a great university if you are a younger student. If you are a mature student then you can be made to feel invisible. Everything is aimed at the younger students which is understandable but makes feeling like you belong really challenging.

It is still hybrid teaching and this is difficult to deal with if the subject matter is challenging or you don’t understand something. There are assumptions that you will know everything and very little time and space to discuss what you’ve learned or finding difficult. Contact hours… more like contact hour! The content is fantastic but more could be done to improve how it is taught.
