The uni has a lovely campus, and the staff are really nice and helpful. They provide a lot of support for students, but sometimes they don't communicate clear enough where and how to access this support. The services are good, specifically one search and the library services, with the use of writing mentors and subject specific librarians who can help with assignments. The communication and the planning is not the best sometimes. We often have long hour gaps in between lectures, which can make you become disengaged or bored when you go into your next lecture. There is also a lack of communication between the uni and the mentors on placement, meaning mentors and students are unsure about things due to the lack of communication.

The subject days really make the course worth it. They are always interesting and relevant, and they are structured well. The IPD days are sometimes not the best and often feel like a waste of time. The guest speakers have been a bit boring and a lot of stuff is repeated. Half the time it could have been done in an email or online instead of on campus.

University has been a mix of incredible highs and frustrating lows. The best part has definitely been the freedom—being able to explore subjects I’m genuinely interested in, meeting people from all walks of life, and finally feeling like I have some control over my own routine. Some of the friendships I’ve made feel like they’ll last a lifetime, and there’s something exciting about the late-night study sessions, spontaneous adventures, and even the occasional deep conversations with people I just met. But on the flip side, the pressure can be overwhelming. Balancing deadlines, social life, and basic self-care sometimes feels impossible, and there are moments when imposter syndrome kicks in hard. There have been times when I’ve felt completely lost, wondering if I’m actually on the right path or just going through the motions. Still, even with the stress, I wouldn’t trade the experience—it’s been chaotic, challenging, and sometimes exhausting, but it’s also been one of the most defining periods of my life.

Studying law at university has been a rollercoaster of intense challenges and rewarding moments. The best part has been the way it’s sharpened my thinking—I’ve developed a completely new way of analyzing problems, picking apart arguments, and seeing the complexities in issues I once took at face value. There’s also a certain thrill in those moments when everything clicks—finally understanding a difficult case, debating legal principles with friends, or even impressing a tutor with a well-argued point. But the worst part? The sheer workload. The constant reading, the never-ending case law, and the feeling that no matter how much I study, there’s always more I should be doing. The pressure to perform—whether in essays, exams, or moots—can feel relentless, and imposter syndrome is real when surrounded by so many brilliant, ambitious people. Still, despite the stress, I know this experience is shaping me in ways beyond just academics, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
