The university truly has a great atmosphere with good social spaces being available. The lecturers, who are amazing and friendly, are very helpful with our problems and I find the coursework provided by them very interesting. The library has great facilities with a lot of space to study and find books of your interest. I can find myself spending my whole day in the library and not feeling exhausted because of the quiet and calm atmosphere inside. The food shops inside are great with good deals for students in the student shop, but we could do with more variety of food joints. The sports facilities are top tier and I love spending my time in the gym as it's very clean and has all the equipment you would need. I would suggest the addition of social rooms where people could come together to play some table games or video games, as there is a lack of activities to do with a group in the whole area. The distance between the campuses gives me a great opportunity to get some steps in as I would typically be sitting all day, and if you don't like walking there is always the option of using the university bus (which is free of charge!). The class timetables could be improved as many of my classmates have complained about the evening class schedules. For example, I have a class at 5pm for an hour of math quiz, and I have to travel from a long way just for that. So maybe a better integration of class timings would be great. The costs of living in Derby are very reasonable so I would highly suggest coming over here compared to other spots. In conclusion, I am very happy with my decision to study in Derby as I have been having a good experience so far.

I would say that our course is taught very well, with engaging content and examples from the lecturers. The course hours are a bit problematic for me personally as some classes could be moved to another day so that I study more in a day. My Computational Mathematics class is at 5 PM and I have to travel a long way for an hour of class and go back home, which is very silly in my opinion. Some students get to come in for that class on another day where more classes are there, making it sensible for them to come in. My experience with lecturers is really good as they reply relatively quickly and help you straight away. Some of them even go out of their way to help you out on their holiday break, which is a very nice gesture from them. In conclusion, I love my course and the tutors are excellent but would want to see a better integration of class timings or else I have no complaints.

Really nice and clean campus, nice walk to and from all the campuses

Lots of lab sessions that a really good and have lots of support, most lecturers are really good, although some of the hours aren’t great it could be a lot work and it’s adequate

Although the halls is very cheap, its quality is very poor, we have had cockroaches and mice in our accommodation for months and little has been done about it. The boiler has problems, the lights flicker regularly and sometimes don’t even turn on.
