The opportunity for a year-long industry placement is a significant career advantage. ​Supportive Staff: The lecturers are often praised for being knowledgeable, friendly, and highly supportive, often offering one-on-one help and maintaining a high level of academic support. ​Modern Resources: The main campus and particularly the Sheppard Library are excellent, providing modern facilities, extensive resources, and crucial 24/7 access during peak study times. ​How Could it Be Improved? (Areas for Growth) ​Placement and Administrative Communication: The university should look to improve the consistency and timeliness of communication regarding the industrial placement process and general course administration to reduce uncertainty for students. ​Facility Access: Increasing the availability of dedicated computer labs/workstations in classrooms (outside of the library) would make it easier for students to immediately apply concepts in lectures and labs, improving the daily learning workflow. ​Student Feedback Loop: While staff are approachable, there is a perception that the wider mechanism for the "student voice" (where collective feedback is acted upon) could be made more visible and effective.
