Falmouth university provides a wide variety of resources to further your knowledge and skills, with a huge library and tons of computers available for use. It is a great environment to grow and develop, not only in your chosen profession, but as a person. I have only been here for a few months now, and I have learnt more about programming in C# than I ever had in my 2 years of college. The only major downside to this uni is that they very much focus on independent learning and research, which can sometimes be frustrating when you’re not sure what you should look into next. There have been several times where I have found a solution to a problem and later found out that there is a much easier and more efficient way to achieve the same result, however this has also pushed me to work harder and allocate more time to work, which has inadvertently made me enjoy programming more, and it makes figuring out that next problem or obstacle much more rewarding. Overall I think Falmouth University is a great choice and would definitely recommend other people to look into there courses if they are interested in going to uni.

The course that I am on can be incredibly confusing and challenging at times due to its problem solving nature, and sometimes it can be hard to communicate problems that you’re having as there are several solutions to them, and different people with give you different advice and suggestions, however at Falmouth University there are tons of very smart and experienced lecturers and support staff to not necessarily give you the answers to you’re problems, but guide you in the right direction. The one major downside is that I never got taught how to write code in the software that we use to make games, even tho it said they would in the course description. This meant I had to cram in extra time, staying up until 3am doing research and work, which overall was very frustrating but now I am much more knowledgeable about C# scripting because of it. Overall I’d say the course can be very disorganised and feel messy at times, however the projects and tasks that we are assigned to do really engage your skills and have a dramatically positive effect on your overall performance.

Packsaddle Hill is great and I am very glad that I got a place here. When you are applying for a room you can contact the accommodation team to tell them about any medical or non-medical requirements you need or would like. They will take these into consideration when allocating your room are place you accordingly. The facility’s provided at packsaddle are amazing, and I feel very comfortable living here with my 6 other flat mates. The one major downside is the maintenance team. During my stay here so far I have requested the maintenance team to look at or fix something, they have told me they will send someone out and never have. This wouldn’t be a problem if this device was free, however it is in the accommodation contract. Later on during my time here if this doesn’t change I may complain to the higher ups or refuse to pay for there services, however for now there’s not much else I can do. Overall Packsaddle is a great place to live whilst you’re hear at Falmouth University and I highly recommend you choose it if you are located on Pernyn campus.
