Best place to study because of some lecturers and the location being near the beach since I’m a surfer and a sucker for cycling on the promenade. The facilities for my degree could be improved, more funding is needed for some of the clubs and societies as well as support for the committees would be appreciated, some lecturers are mediocre and clearly copy teaching material from other sources without reference on occasion.

Some units are fantastic (especially newly created ones) (e.g., AI related ones), I’ve been able to get into extra curricular opportunities (paid and unpaid) as a result of high unit marks, and some lecturers are truly knowledgable and just all around nice people to work and study with! Group work units are horrible and are clearly the worst ones (mark-wise) of my degree which I don’t feel is fair for an independent classification (luckily only 1 unit with group work counts towards it). Group work at university is fine and a good idea but not counting towards the degree. Contact hours could be increased as we only have 12 contact hours maximum per semester. More up to date subjects could be taught for traditional software engineering.

The support for student mental health on campus is amazing, and the lecturers are extremely helpful and friendly. Sometimes there's some issues with the facilities - mostly to do with the program Unity, really, which hasn't been fixed for about 5-6 weeks now, but everything else is pretty good. Honestly I can't say much about student life because I'm not very social, but there are plenty of events and days where the Student's Union has various stalls, including eco-friendly vendors and mental health support. The campus is pretty well connected with it's bus routes, with one of those buses going directly into town. The campus itself is interesting, really. There's a lot of different styles of buildings, though I can't say much for the inside of most of them because I've only been between 2-3.

Like I mentioned before, the facilities are great, with only an ongoing issue with Unity. The lecturers are very friendly and helpful, and they have office hours that you can talk to them in even outside of lectures, though they also answer every email you send. The course is taught in-person, and it really benefits from that because it makes it easier for the lecturers to show you what you've done wrong in Labs and help you to correct it. I haven't seen a lot about work placements and internships yet - I only just started my second semester, but they have given us career workshops throughout the year, and there's always the option to go to the careers officers. The course itself is engaging, though I would say it can get a little hard, there's always a lot of support and it's unlikely you'll fail.
