A relaxed atmosphere, where it is easy to work and study. Informative and easy to get support from tutors.

Contact hours are kept light with time give in each lecture to process and do some work on the topics discussed withing the lecture.

The location is brilliant, being close to both the primary campus and the centre of town. The Wi-Fi is ok. It is fine for most working but if I am trying to do research into anything where connection to other people is required the Wi-Fi is less accommodating.

The best part about CCCU is the support system. Whenever there is a work or personal issue, staff and students around you are instantly willing to help or simply listen which is so friendly and reassuring! It makes the class environment positive and if you live away from home it can help boost your mental health knowing that the uni and its people are round the corner. One thing that could be improved is the way students are introduced to uni exams. As a student rep for my class I have seen that everyone struggles to meet deadlines but also that there is not much information given to start with, so students are left in the dark.

The best part about my course is the content and the help within it. Each workshop is so engaging and interesting, with the tutors able to communicate and joke easily with the students, making stressful parts of the module easier to swallow. On top of this the blend of online pebble pad and in person lectures is really stimulating, it helps to get us working outside of lessons. One thing that can be improved could be the contact hours, with only three days or in person lectures and three hours per module, it would be nice if we could have more time with each module per week incase some of us didn’t quite understand the lesson.

The thing I like most about Lanfranc is the community aspect. In these halls you are able to develop a family through the flats within your block and it’s so wonderful! Doing this allowed me to share moments with them like little dinners or going out, making it an easier transition away from my family. One thing I would improve about Lanfranc is the initial quality of the flats. Upon first arrival the flats had not been cleaned very well and many of our facilities were not working and still don’t, such as the cooker and fan, and originally the bathroom fan. This led to a lot of stress initially and dampened many of our spirits.
