The university has allowed many opportunities to join societies and sports for student life. I have not use a lot of the facilities for recreational purposes and a lot of the events have not seemed appealing. Academic wise it is okay

For work related facilities a lot of them are locked to specific courses. However there is lots of software available on the specialised computers relevant for who needs them. The university is making a noticeable effort to increase the facilities students have access too. There isn't anything they have in excess but a few do feel spread far and thin. Because of the specialisation, some courses get no use out of using the library computers because they are missing core things. The SU has a number of facilities and they are all of pretty good quality, some seem wasteful and unnecessary (e.g. an expensive cocktail bar on a boat) when they make us rent cups.

Personal tutors recently moved from being compulsory to drop in but the meetings were always pretty brief and uninformative. The university has a few systems in place for personal support but I am unsure of how good those services are

The SU tries. It often has technological issues and is often running events though the events sometimes get repetitive, they favour societies over others and some of the facilities go underused or advertised badly

Accommodation can vary from a few minutes to 40 minutes walks away but the majority of accommodation is around 30 mins out from the university. Unfortunately the train lines and weird crossings of the city can add time to journeys. Most amenities are very close to the university as it is very close to the city centre. More specialised amenities are pretty far away though and public transport is not great.

There are lots of sports and societies, including recreational, sport and academic. For bigger more popular sports some are split womens/mens/competetive ect. Generally however there is a huge range though it is worth noting the price of the sports societies is very expensive

It is nice when modules link the lectures and workshops materials and topics, as it is more complete. However staff tend to hover and help their favourites and a few select people in workshops, it would be nice to have more opportunities to talk to them face to face about work

The university often sends out emails about events and opportunities for increasing employability. There is a whole library department dedicated to helping students in this area and sometimes staff from there will appear in lectures to remind the students they are there and inform of upcoming events

I really enjoy my course and there is always good feedback on my work. The facilities provided for my course are good. I don't particularly find any of the clubs and societies appealing but the fact you can make your own society is really cool. I would reccomend the city for it's highstreet and night life too because it's really conviniently located next to the university and all the accomodation.
