Leeds is a fantastic city to come study at and the university has two campuses located inside the city and outside at Headingley. Unfortunately between 1st and 2nd year we weren't kept up to date on the campus we would be continuing our course and I've moved out to Headingley for 2nd year when our course had been moved to the City campus. Whilst the campuses are fantastic, the course has been slightly disappointing for me, without a real focus on what I feel makes the industry amazing. The choices for optional modules in 3rd year are very disappointing and only diverse learning into two separate fields, both of which I am not super keen on, and with no modules during the year that really focus on the theory aspect. There are a lot of gripes I have with the University's avoidance of partaking in the Uni strike action as well, voting against taking part in strike action. This strike action would have lead to less commercialisation of University, equal rights and pay for tutors, and great fight for unionisation of the university. This is just a minor issue though :) Overall I love Leeds, and the university. The new campus building I'm in is high quality and my lecturers ensure that I'm engaged with the course.

During COVID there was not much in terms of planning to support online learning, despite having months to prepare. The workload was diversed into trimesters instead of semesters which was honestly a much more digestible workload which makes me unsure why they went back to semesters following it. However after returning to in-person teaching the quality significantly improved, lecturers being passionate about what they were teaching.

I love the course and the tutors. The content has been really good so far and really looking forward to continuing. However, the lectures sometimes feel a little unhelpful, and the tutors don’t always know how to help and just tell you to just google your questions.

The course has been amazing so far but there are a few things. Our course is notorious for being hard to get placements for but it’s had no possibilities so far. Some of the lecturers are unhelpful, and unknowledgeable in their subject area. We only get 2 lessons a week whereas one of those classes is worth most of our grade but we only get one lesson a week so it’s not a lot of contact contact time.

Good place to stay but there’s a lot better places to stay for a lot less money.
