I love studying at the university of Glasgow because the classes are so interesting. There is a wide selection of classes to choose from and they don’t fail to amaze. The campus as well speaks for itself, it’s the most breathtaking campus and really helps motivate you in your studies. There’s also an amazing range of things to do and places to study and eat. Also the other students are really nice and you get to meet people from all over the world!

My course is blended so part online and part in person. The best aspects about my course is that I get to choose from a wide range of topics and subjects in my studies which all include an interesting range of reading lists. However, I don’t like the online teaching as I find it hard to engage with the lecturer and the other students during classes.

It’s so close to byres road which is a student hub, it’s filled with so many restaurants, bars and cafes and you’re often spoiled for choice. So whether you’re looking for a cute study space or a break and a bit to eat, byres road is a mere minutes away.

The University of Glasgow creates an atmosphere of tradition and history whilst simultaneously providing modern studying styles and facilities. It is placed with good links to the rest of the city and with two student unions and 4 student bodies it has the student experience as a priority.

These are limited. With more and more students joining U of G there are not enough computers in the library and study space can sometimes be hard to come by. The facilities that are there are brilliant however - The library is massive, the staff are friendly and the facilities easy to use.

The SRC provides a support network for all kinds of needs and represents the students to the University. The University itself has system of advisors that is in place to give students a contact for when they are struggling or have questions.

There are two!!! University of Glasgow is unique in the fact that it has two brilliant student unions. Both provide entertainment and social events and one of them is bound to take your fancy. The Queen Margaret Union has a great reputation for being a safe and accepting place to be whatever you are in to and however you are identify.

Glasgow is the best for entertainment. You can see the biggest bands on their world tours or discover something new in a wee bar - Glasgow has an array of music venues to suit your tastes and budget. It also has numerous comedy clubs, theatres, clubs and bars.

There are hundreds of clubs and societies ranging from subject clubs and sports clubs to interest clubs such as Harry Potter Society and Cheese Society. If there is not one that takes your fancy it is easy to set one up and affiliate with the SRC and the unions for perks and meeting space.

Many individual lecturers and course leaders have different styles of teaching but tend to come from an academic research background and thus have an enthusiasm for what they teach.

The University of Glasgow is recognised as a top University and has a great careers service to help you decide what you want to do.

The accommodation provided for first years is limited and that can sometimes cause issues. They vary in standard but all are fine.
